Repair Procedures

Workshop-style remove-and-install procedure for the OM642 exhaust gas recirculation positioner (Y27/11) on the NCV3 Sprinter Model 906. Covers coolant pressure relief, hose clamp-off, EGR positioner removal, sealing-ring replacement, the 8 Nm valve-to-housing torque spec, and the post-install leak test.

Replace the electric EGR valve on the OM646 four-cylinder NCV3 Sprinter. Covers coolant draining, intake-pipe removal, the four EGR-valve bolts, the new gasket and O-ring, the cooler-to-valve seal, electrical reconnection, and the post-install adaptation reset.

Replace all 6 glow plugs and the glow plug control module (GPCM) on the OM642 3.0L V6 CDI. Failing glow plugs cause hard cold starts, white smoke on startup, and misfires. Always replace as a full set - never individual plugs.

Replace the serpentine belt on the OM642 NCV3 Sprinter to prevent unexpected breakage that can leave you stranded.
